Welcome To My Site

Greetings everyone. I've built this site mainly to share my interest in the hobbies of gold prospecting and metal detecting.

I'm a Baptist pastor by calling, but in my spare time I love to get outdoors and look for some lost treasure. Treasure hunting has been an activity known to man since biblical times. In one of Jesus' parables, he likened the kingdom of God to those who sought out buried treasure. Back in those days, a man was permitted to "trespass" on his neighbor's field and snoop around. But, if and when he found treasure he could not simply take it with him, for that would be regarded as "theft" under the Mosaic law and punishable by having to pay seven-fold the amount stolen. So, what he would do is go and sell all that he possessed so that he could legally buy the field from the owner, and thus the treasure could be all his.

The simple moral of the story is, the kingdom of God is made up of those who have forsaken all to follow Christ. In other words, they have repented of their sinful lives in order to receive the life which Christ has to offer. You see, the real treasure, my friend, is not gold or silver but the kingdom of God. And though "many are called, few are chosen." Few, that is, only because most refuse to heed the words of the Lord when he said, "Repent, and believe the Gospel, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Will you become one of the few? Well, that's up to you, isn't it?

I know you weren't expecting to get preached at when you visited this site. But hey, don't expect any apologies from me. After all, I am a preacher. It's what I do.

Now feel free to browse around and look at some of my prospecting and metal detecting finds, and if you have any questions or comments about my site don't hesitate to email me. I would love to hear from you!
